-----Test Technician (Contract to permanent)
Position is responsible for final integration, testing instruments to current product specifications, troubleshooting non-performing subassemblies, and meeting all quality expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Setup and integrate final production systems. This includes verification that all equipment needed to fulfill proper configuration are present and will be part of test.
2. Perform all required setups and testing per product specification to ensure that produced instruments meet all required specifications. Troubleshoot any system down to assembly level and perform the required repairs per standard operating procedures. Provide feedback to the production line as to what discrepancies were found during test.
3. Meet all quality levels required for shipment of the final instrument. This includes all subassemblies, proper documentation, and aesthetic features of the system.
4. Meet all required ship dates as per the production schedule. This includes ensuring all quality control checks, and shipping is performed on-time.
Test Technician will be required to conduct acceptance testing and troubleshooting of complex systems, subsystems, modules in an effective efficient manner. Demonstrate good analytical capability and current technical knowledge. Interpret complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics. Accurately document all tests, troubleshooting activities as they are performed. Assist in making corrections and improvements to acceptance test procedures. Ensure that all test equipment calibration requirements within the area are maintained.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• AA degree or equivalent work experience (3-5 years)
• Basic knowledge of generally accepted technical (electronic) theory
• Proficient in utilizing bench test equipment
• Knowledge/experience with networking, computers and software applications
• Good interpersonal and organization skills are a necessity.
• Ability to work from verbal/written instructions
• Must be willing to work some extra hours as needed to meet business goals
• Some travel may be required
• Production testing and troubleshooting to component level
• Electrical and mechanical assembling
• Soldering
• Capable of understanding Accepting Test Procedures (ATP) requirements and selecting appropriate test equipment to perform testing on products
• Understand the importance of equipment calibration and must be able to constantly monitor all test equipment for calibration testing
• Setup and use most electrical and electronic test equipment with assistance
• Understanding and monitoring the accuracy of all documentation including test reports, strip charts and manufacturing orders
